How to use InvoiceXpress MCP with Claude

What is InvoiceXpress MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a secure bridge that connects your Claude account — Code or Cowork — directly to your InvoiceXpress account. In practice, it lets you manage your business billing through a conversation, with no menus, no forms, and no programming required.

Instead of navigating through the platform, you simply ask in natural language. For example: “Issue a €250 invoice to the customer João Silva” or “Show me this month’s outstanding invoices.”

Access to MCP is included in your InvoiceXpress account, at no additional cost.

Compatibility

At the moment, InvoiceXpress MCP is available for Claude by Anthropic.

How to set it up: step by step

What you need before you start

• An active InvoiceXpress account
• A Claude account. It works on all plans, including the free plan.

Steps

1. Access Claude through the web, desktop, or mobile app.
2. Open the Connectors settings. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors.

3. Add a new custom connector and enter the InvoiceXpress MCP URL:

   https://mcp.invoicexpress.com/mcp

4. Authorise access. You will be redirected to authenticate your InvoiceXpress account. This step ensures that Claude can only access the data allowed by your account.
5. Confirm the connection. Once authorised, the connector becomes active. Open a new conversation and Claude will be able to interact with your billing.

Security note: all actions require your authorisation and the AI only accesses what your account has access to. Nothing is executed without your control.

Does MCP have any additional cost?

No. Access to MCP is included in your InvoiceXpress account, at no extra cost.

Is it secure?

Yes. The connection uses OAuth authentication and requires your explicit authorisation. The artificial intelligence can only access the information your account already has access to — nothing more.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. MCP was designed precisely to remove that barrier. All interaction happens through natural language.

Does it work with Claude’s free plan?

Yes. MCP works on all Claude plans. Please note that Claude’s free plan may have a limit on the number of custom connectors.

Can I issue real invoices through AI?

Yes. MCP supports write actions, including issuing invoices and registering receipts. We recommend that you always review the details before confirming any action.

Does it work with ChatGPT or Cursor?

At the moment, MCP is available for Claude. Support for other platforms will be announced soon.

Do invoices issued by AI comply with legal requirements?

Yes. Invoices are issued through InvoiceXpress and comply with the same legal and tax requirements as any invoice created directly on the platform.
