What is a Qualified Digital Signature?

A Digital Signature (or Electronic Signature) is a certificate that allows PDF files to be signed with the same legal validity as a physical signature.

Digital Signature makes it possible to identify the source of the electronically sent data (authentication), as well as whether the data has changed in the meantime (integrity). This way, the PDF cannot be edited, ensuring that your data is exactly the same as the data that appears the moment the invoice is issued.

This is a legal measure that will focus on all companies and all software vendors certified by the Tax Authority.

In short, a Digital Signature has digital certificates associated to it, which ensure the identity of the person who signs a digital document.
